Winter time is (re)construction time

When the weather outside is not exactly conducive to kite flying, let alone KAPing, you can take good care of your equipment. That means you can now make repairs or improvements to your equipment or build new kites and jigs.

I used the time to redesign a kite that I have owned for a long time but rarely fly. The hexagonal kite with the Dortmund motifs was bulky to transport, needed a thicker line and caused quite a bit of pull when the wind was strong enough. These are all things that do not necessarily suit me as a decrepit pensioner.

So I thought of taking this kite apart and turning it into a small star kite and six small hexagons. All this should fly as a chain, or stand individually in the sky.

You will soon be able to read here whether I have succeeded in this endeavour. Today a first photo.

Until then
